Mater's Tall Tales

Merry Christmas. I just wanted to share these videos with you. If you don't have Disney Channel you may not have seen them. But if you have boy's and they love cars this is a must see. I'm going to record them on my Computer to see if I can get better audio and picture. Enjoy!

A funny clip

Matthew and Ryan just bust up when they see this, so I wanted to share. I'm not quite sure why it is funny but it is to them. Ryan also thinks it is funny when Charlie Brown puts the ornament on the tree and the tree falls over. I will try to add a clip of them laughing at the video.

Santa, Ryan and Matthew

A few weeks ago we took Matthew and Ryan to the ward Christmas party. At the end we had a special visitor...Santa Claus. Matthew and Ryan were both a little shy about the whole situation, but we got in line and waited for our turn.
Matthew was very excited until the last minute, when he insisted that Ryan needed to go first.Matthew asked for Jerry's game, Chess from the Pixar short, and he said he was good.

This is the list he gave me.Flowers, M&M's, ox cart, ball, games, pancake mix, candy canes, new stockings, ghost costume, church shoes, crayons, wreath, little people, animals, watch, kids, and stuff to make stuff with.

Mommy Needs Help

I had Matthew and Zachary with me yesterday as I was running some errands. We were listening to Christmas music on the radio when some commercials came on. One was for the Christmas open house at Maceys the grocery store. I was only partially listening to something about specials on food, store prizes etc. as the commercial ended with "Let Maceys help you with your holiday plans."

Matthew: Mom, we need to go to Maceys.
Mom: Why?
Matthew: Because they will help you with the holidays.
Mom (trying very hard not to laugh): Do you think mom needs some help?
Matthew: Yes.

Very, Very, Very

Matthew came home from preschool on Wednesday with some rainbow jello. (Thank you Ms. Roper!) After Matthew finished telling me about it, he informed me that he was going to put it in the fridge. "Nobody gets to eat it mom because it is very special. It's very important. It's very MINE."

Lazy Monday, Lazy Amy

It's 10:35 on Monday morning. I should be doing the dishes, cleaning the bathrooms, or finishing up things for Christmas. Instead I am sitting here in my pajamas reading random things on the computer. And the funny things is, I don't feel bad at all. Hope you all have a great Monday. Happy December!

The Three Musketeers

The things they say...

Matthew: Mom, you're a pig. (giggle, giggle)
Mom: I'm a pig?
Matthew: Yes!
Ryan: I'm a doggy, woof woof!
Mom: You're a doggy?
Ryan: giggle, giggle
Matthew: And I'm a wolf.
Mom: Really? Wow.
Matthew: Yeah, a big bad wolf.
Mom: Why are you a big bad wolf?
Matthew: Because I'm four. (That explains a lot!)

I had just finished changing Ryan's pants last night. As I was getting ready to strap on his new diaper, he accidentally brushed his hand alongside his damp bum. "Oh no momma. My bum is crying!" he says.

Dr. Matthew

Matthew wanted a snack the other day and brought out some saltine crackers. I told him that he needed to think of something else.
"But Mom" (a very common phrase these days) "I want to eat these."
"Why?"
"Because I think I'm getting sick."
"You're not getting sick silly. Let's find something else."
"I am getting sick and these will help me get better. See, they have Vitamin C," he says, pointing to the box.
And sure enough, they do. As in C. For Cracker.

Zachary's Blessing

We blessed our little Zachary last week. Kevin gave a beautiful blessing and Zach was quiet through the whole thing. :) It was so nice to have family come and visit. We missed those who couldn't be here! Here are some pictures of our handsome guy.

So sweet!

What a fun day!

Halloween - A little late!

The boys had a blast for Halloween this year. Matthew couldn't wait to get dressed in his costume, even though he was the same thing last year. (That's okay. Easy for mom!) We went to the ward party for chili and cornbread and a trunk-or-treat. The boys played a few carnival games then got down to business with some serious trick-or-treating. Ryan even learned to say "twick tweat" and "thank you man." It was pretty funny. Let's just say that they got way too much candy.

What's up, little monkey?

Tigger is all smiles.

Enjoying the fruits of their labors in the parking lot.

Finally a smile.

A little confused

Yesterday Kevin went to get Ryan after he had woken up from his nap. He was jumping on the bed and when Kevin opened the door Ryan shouted, "I be Tigger. I bouncing!"

Then a short while later he came up to his little brother and said, "Zach is cute!" I asked him if Ryan was cute. "No." Are you handsome? "No." Then what are you? Tigger? "I just Wyan." Good to know!

Birthday Extravaganza!!!

I love October - the beginning of fall, pretty leaves, cooler temperatures, pumpkins, Halloween, and three birthdays in one month! Is it any wonder that we are so behind on the blog?

Matthew had his 4th birthday about a week and a half ago. He was really excited about his birthday this year and had been anxiously awaiting the day he would turn 4 and be "big." He even started counting down the days on the calendar. "Mom, did you know that tomorrow after tomorrow will be my birthday? I only have 2 more days!" he would say. Kevin and I are starting to wonder what we are going to do when he gets too smart to figure out our code talk for presents! The morning was great. He got to go to preschool (one of his favorite things) where they sang Happy Birthday and made a birthday crown. His teacher even gave him a small gift which he raved about the rest of the day. He received several phone calls from family and couldn't wait to open presents after dinner. After presents we had Curious George birthday cake with some friends (thanks Jack and Cameron!). He still talks about his birthday and always reminds us that he is big enough and old enough to do things now because he is 4. I wonder what will happen when he turns 5!
Ryan also had a birthday recently. It's hard to believe that his is 2 years old! He didn't quite grasp the concept of a birthday until it came time for presents. He was a little wary of the first one but after he got the hang of it he quickly became a pro! He loved his Shake 'n' Go Lightning McQueen car. Kevin and I tried to think of some different presents for him, but Ryan is obsessed with Pixar Cars. He knows all of their names and plays with them almost all day, every day. Does that surprise you coming from our boys? :)
Sorry about the cake. I tried to make a really cool race track but I was a little short on time. I don't think Ryan minded though!

Halloweenie Roast

My Aunts Gayle, Nola, and Jeneile put on a Halloweenie Roast every October at my Grandpa Tams' farm in Paradise. They have bonfires to roast hot dogs and decorate the barn as a haunted house. There are children's games and two tractor rides, one in a barrel train and the other in a wagon. The tractors take you over two acres of land decorated with various Halloween scenes. (The best way to describe it is like a drive through a Christmas light display, but it has a Halloween theme.) Honestly, it was amazing...I can't believe my Aunts and Uncles do it every year. We had a lot of fun and of course the boys didn't want to leave. You can't go wrong with candy and tractors!

Happy Birthday Amy

This week we celebrate Amy's Birthday. Amy requested apple pie instead of cake...and it was great! It is so fun to see how excited the boy's get over birthday's. They really do love a good birthday party.

Ryan

Did you know that Ryan has a Dimple? It just showed up a few weeks ago and it is so cute. Ryan has been dealing with his new little brother and it has been quite the process for him.

Ryan's dimple...so cuteNot quite sure how to hold baby ZachAt first Ryan didn't know what to expect. He was a little sad and entered the denial phase.
He sought comfort in his toys trying to figure out the best way to solve his problem. At last an idea came to him...I'll join the rodeo and be a barrel. Then he thought if he ran off and became a pirate things would get better.
He even looked outside of the box...but nothing seemed to work.He then consulted his favorite book series to see if George had any thoughts for solving his problem. At last it was his big brother who let Ryan in on the secret. Little brothers are great...they make the world a better place.
Here is another funny story from Ryan. Amy prefaces it as Ryan being a Man after her own heart.
-----Mom: Ryan, what do you want for Breakfast today?
-----Ryan: Mom, I want Chocolate!

One Month

Zach and Amy have both survived the first month! Zach is gaining weight and growing everyday. Amy hasn't lost too much sleep and is amazing for taking care of Zach all night and Matthew, Ryan and Zach until I get home from work.We even made our annual trip up Provo Canyon to get fall pictures! This is one of Amy's favorite things to do. Zach has done better in the car than Matthew or Ryan did but I'm sure that it is nice to look at your brother's instead of the back of the car.Zach has been eating well, he binges before bedtime and once or twice he has slept about four hours. Amy loves those nights! We are so excited to have Zach in our family. The boy's just love him and we really can't imagine life without the little guy (that's what Ryan calls him).

Our little Zachary is almost 3 weeks old already. It makes me said to see how fast they grow up. Here's a picture of him taken last night, chillin' in the onesie. And he still has hair!

Matthew - Learning to play Soccer

Matthew has been attending "Learn to Play" soccer classes in Provo. He really likes to run, kick the ball, and goof off with his neighborhood friends. He hasn't really figured out what soccer is but he is having fun and that is whats really important.
