Dresses?

The other night I told Ryan that it was time to clean up and put on his PJ's.

"But mom, I want my dress on."

Dress? I'm going through all the possibilities in my head as quickly as I can to figure what it is he might want. "You mean these?" pointing to his shoes that he did not want to take off earlier in the day.

"No, I want my dress on."

Dress, dress, dress. Still not coming to mom. "Ryan, can you tell me what it looks like?"

In an exasperated tone, "Mom, MY DRESS ON."

It finally dawns on me - "You mean you want to stay dressed?"

"Yes!" he says, glad that his mom finally got it.

"Sorry kiddo, it's time for your pajamas."

"Okay," he says sadly.

I guess he'll realize the joys of pajamas some other time.

Speaking of dress, here are the boys looking very handsome in their Easter clothes. I haven't had the chance to take a picture of Zach in his cute outfit, but it will happen soon!

Zach's a Girl?

Matthew: Mom, Zach looks like a girl.

Mom: He looks like a girl? Why?

Matthew: Because he has poofy hair, like yours.

*I have to say that Zach's poofy hair is not like my poofy hair. I usually have a part down the middle whereas Zach's fuzzy blond is coming in straight down the middle, almost like a mohawk. We are just happy to have a child with hair before the age of one.

I put Zachary in his chair last night while I was making dinner. When I turned around to get him out this is what I found:

Growing Tomatoes

Every year we plant tomatoes and we usually have had a good harvest. On Saturday we planted two Bonnie tomatoes and one Beef Steak. As you can see I have also constructed a fence to protect our tomatoes from our boys. We try to let the boys help us plant other things in the garden. Much of the scriptures are agriculturally based and without some gardening experience it is hard to understand. Our boys also love the dirt and to dig. Hot Socks

Ryan does not like running around barefoot and has to have socks on all of the time. This morning he was running around with Matthew when one of his socks came off.

Ryan: "Mom, my sock came off. You know where it is?"

Mom: "It's right there on the floor."

Ryan: "Dat's not mine. It's Mafew's."

Mom: "I'm pretty sure it's yours. Bring it over here and I'll help you put it on."

Ryan: "No, dat's not mine. It's cold."

Mom: "It's what?"

Ryan: "It's cold. I like hot socks."

Mom: "Hot socks?"

Ryan: "Yes. I ONLY like hot socks."

So now I know that Ryan's socks cannot be wet, "squishy", too loose, too big, or too cold. Only perfectly fitting, dry, hot socks. Is that too much to ask?

"I Know Chocolate"

Kevin was eating some Milk Duds he brought home from a trip. After sharing some with Matthew, he popped a few more in his mouth.

Matthew: "Dad, you shouldn't eat so many of those. You will get a tummy ache."
Dad: "I will?"
Matthew: "Yes. I know chocolate, so you should listen to me."

Good to know.

The Little Guy

So I have been way behind on blogging these days. We have all been sick for the last month or so and I just haven't felt up to it. But I do need to catch up on some fun things about our little man Zachary.

He started eating solids awhile ago. So far his favorites are peas, green beans, and carrots. He is not very fond of sweet potatoes or squash, which my other boys loved. I tried giving him peaches the other day and he gagged on them. It looks like he's not too sure about the fruits yet. He likes his cereal most days, but it depends on his mood. Sometimes he eats it up and other times he plays with it in his mouth and blows it all over his mom. :)


Zach is also finally starting to roll over. He is such a funny kid. He has been very casual about lifting his head up or pushing up on his arms. Whenever he is on his tummy he stays up for a few seconds then lays his head back down on the floor. It has taken a lot of work to help him roll over. Let's just say he probably won't be crawling any time soon, which I guess could be a good thing. I already have two monkeys to chase after!

And after a week of a bad cold, ear infection, non-stop drooling, and no sleep, Zachary finally cut his first two teeth a couple of days ago. He is a happy camper now! He likes to suck in his lower lip to feel the new things in his mouth. It's really cute, but doesn't last long enough for me to get a picture.
We love our little guy so much! He is such a sweet boy who can bring a smile to anyone's face. I can't believe he fast he is growing. We love you Zach-meister!
